Working with Mass Highway, this product has been fielded at a mid-block crossing in MA for over 6 months. It triggers the beacon flashers once pedestrians are detected in the detection zone. Its performance has been compared with both passive IR detector and microwave detector which are currently recognized as the two best candidates for outdoor pedestrian detections. Although stereo-vision-based pedestrian detection techologies have been studied over the past decades, there are currently no field-proven commercial stereoscopic products for pedestrian detections. MigmaMidblock represents the cutting edge technology for pedestrian detection in the outdoor environment, with better performance compared to existing techologies.
